I feel like I should be saying go out and enjoy the beautiful weather but every time I think about the sun shining, I associate it with Portugal and how much I miss being there. Plus, the weather is so unpredictable in Toronto, so on rainy days, I like to binge on Netflix.
These 5 things to watch on Netflix are not only keeping me entertained this summer, but they are also justifying my subscription with Netflix despite the raise in price! Enjoy :)

Of course this would be my #1. That's because I am Donna Paulsen — she is my spirit animal. That will make much more sense when you watch the show. Plus, even though it's set in NYC, some familiar corners make appearances because a lot of the scenes were shot here in Toronto! Not to mention, I'm learning a lot about various aspects of law (with a grain of salt, obviously since it's a TV show). Each episode is roughly 40 minutes and seasons one through five are uploaded currently.

My boyfriend kept raving about how good this show was, he said I'd like it, and even offered to re-watch it with me from the beginning. The first 15 minutes were sort of painful for me to digest because I was completely lost about what was happening but after that I was hooked. I thought Netflix created a show using the whole we have characters with different ethnicities card to win over viewers for a fluff show but it actually has so much thought put into the storyline. Each episode is one hour and there's two seasons uploaded. If you're got the time, invest it in this show!

I knew four people who would rant and rave about how great this show was before I gave it a chance. They did not hype it up for no reason. Each episode has something so heart-warming that it brought tears to my eyes. There is not one character that I dislike, and realistically, I related to each one in some way or another. The second season just started so if you're not already watching This Is Us, go catch up now!

I started watching this show under the impression that it would mimic the Archie comics — I was wrong. Though the characters' names and personalities are the same, they a) don't look the same and b) the storyline is not what I remember it being. That being said, the storyline that the TV show does have is great. It's very similar to Pretty Little Liars in the sense that there's a mystery murderer running around town, so if that's your cup of tea, you'll love this show.

What can I say about Stranger Things that hasn't been said? This show has been hyped for all the right reasons. It's got a little bit of comedy, mystery, and thrill! Second season has been long-awaited and is about to drop on Netflix also, so go watch it now!
